I am an Assistant Professor of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources, School of Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida. I grew up in Westmoreland, Jamaica. I completed my PhD at Purdue University in the department of Forestry and Natural Resources. I received my B.A. in Economics, minor in Spanish and concentration in Environmental Studies from Kalamazoo College. |

Stephanie Cadaval (PhD Candidate)
Stephanie's collaborative research focuses on conflict and collaboration around urban forests and storms in Jacksonville, FL, Minneapolis, MN and Philadelphia PA. Stephanie’s dissertation is a part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary research project funded by TREE Fund. She received the prestigious Charles Wood Thesis Award from the University of Florida Center for Latin American Studies in 2021 to honor her master’s thesis entitled "Partnerships, Gender, and Decision Making in Community Mangrove Restoration in Costa Rica.

Lillian Dinkins, (PhD Student)
Lillian studies the human dimensions of urban forestry and urban greenspace in Florida. She was a Conservation Florida Fellow, a highly competitive and prestigious national fellowship program selected from the Scholars for Conservation Leadership Program ( a pilot program established by a partnership between the Land Trust Alliance and the USDA Forest Service in 2019).

Charles Wallace III (PhD Student)
Charles' research focuses on ecosystem services and coastal resilience in various coastal communities in Florida. He completed his MS in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences at UF in 2020 and received his undergraduate degree from Delaware State University in Natural Resources. Charles is co-advised by Dr. Ed Camp.

Ricardo Platero (M.Sc. Student)
Ricardo research interests focus on the human dimensions fishing regulations and licensing in Florida using Trust Ecology Theory. More specifically, Ricardo is interested in the ways that diverse communities engage with fishing and the permitting system. Ricardo completed his BSc at the University of Florida in Natural Resources and Conservation.

Celso Poot (PhD Candidate)
Celso is a PhD Candidate in the School of Natural Resource and Environment at the University of Florida and is pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Ecology with a concentration in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. His dissertation focuses on human-wildlife interactions in Belize including wildlife value orientations and socio-demographics of Belizeans. Celso is also the Director of the Belize Zoo and has won numerous awards for his conservation work including his initiatives to protect the Central American tapir, Tapirus bairdii.

Stephanie's thesis examines the perceptions, concerns, and perceived risks of members of REstoration COordination and VErification (RECOVER) regarding sea level and Everglades restoration. This will provide useful information about sources, preferences and uses of various sea level rise scenarios in the Everglades.
